Ansel Adams

I feel like this wouldn't be a legit photography website if I didn't do at least one post for the amazing Ansel Adams. He is obviously one of the greatest photographers of our time. His pictures are breathtaking. I can only hope to be half as good as he in my lifetime! He was a revolutionary in the world of photography. If you don't know who he is, you have probably been under a rock during your life, but please, after you are done here look him up, it WILL be worth your time! I got to see an exhibit of his a couple years ago. And seeing them the size he preferred, was overwhelming. I could have stayed there all day. I love you Ansel, thank you for allowing us the pleasure of seeing the world through your eyes! Here's a couple few, not necessarily my favorites, because I could get stuck on here all day! haha Enjoy! Then when you are done here pop over to our website and "LIKE" us! http://www.twoturtlesphotography.com also check out his site! With these two sites together I just saved you from at least an hour or two of boredom! You can thank me later, by hiring me to do your photos! HAHA!

This is the man himself! so awesome!
I actually got to see the one above! It was eerie and peaceful at the same time! The way he manipulated his blacks and whites is just amazing.

This one is actually one of my all time favorites. It's called "Moonrise" I got to see it  in the exhibit I saw and I stared at this for an uncomfortable amount of time! I'm sure there were some folks concerned about my mental well being! Haha but it just got me. :) Have a great evening!

  1. It's my favorite too. It's actually called "Moonrise Over Hernandez, New Mexico" and the moon and mist only lasted long enough for two exposures. He didn't have time to use his light meter - he guessed. The first time I saw it was in the CameraWork gallery in Mt. Adams in 1976. I could have bought a 20x24 print of it for $125. You won't realize how ludicrous that is until you look up what it sold for at auction last time.

  2. Ugh, it's late - "Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico" is the title. I don't know where in the hell "Over" came from...
