Artist Kate Boone!

I met this lovely lady while I was at The Art Institute of Ohio-Cincinnati. She is such a groovy chick and super pumped to know her! She is such a fantastic artist and is doing big things here in the Cincinnati area!! Keep a look-out! I love the fact that she doesn't limit herself to just one style of painting or design. She is open to trying and inventing new things. Please, please please check out her website and enjoy the things to be seen there! www.kateboone.com/  and I will of course be putting a couple of teasers on here so you will be even more tempted to check it out!

And as always.. If you have any photography needs, check out our website http://twoturtlesphotography.com as well as our  facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/twoturtlesphotography See ya soon!

Steve Bloom

Steve Bloom is an absolutely amazing photographer. This is, of course, my opinion, and the majority of the rest of the world. :) He was born is South Africa and began photographing the city during the apartheid. He eventually moved to London and began one of the most notable photographic special effects company. In the late nineties, he went to Africa on safari and became enthralled with wildlife photography. Needless to say, he took this field by storm as well. His pictures are breath-taking. I could look at them everyday, all day. He is a man you should look into if you haven't already heard of him. You will not be disappointed. :) I will of course post some here, but it will in no way encompass his amazing amount of photos. Check his site out, http://www.stevebloomphoto.com/index.html When you are done over there, check out our website or facebook page! There are always new and fun things popping up there! http://www.twoturtlesphotography.com  and http://www.facebook.com/twoturtlesphotography  Have a great day!

It was so much fun! We started at Mimi's Cafe for lunch and then went to a local park to have a private photo shoot! Those two are so adorable! You can tell they are a close mother and daughter and I loved to watch them laugh and enjoy eachothers' company! I can only hope that my daughters' and I will be close like that when they are grown! Beirut - the band that is!

Today I want to share with you one of my favorite bands, Beirut. I just found out they will be in Cincinnati in November and I cannot wait. The only other time I have seen them I had to travel to Philly. Which, believe me, was so very worth it. Not only due to seeing them, but it's Philly. If you are a music lover, as I am. I don't see how you could not like them. Yes Mr. Zachary Condon's voice is different. It will grow on you, but what originally drew me is was the music anyways, not his voice. There are so many instruments used in this band that it's like a small orchestra, but with instruments from all over the place. He originally started the band himself and it was a solo project. The first album is only him playing all instruments. This alone is amazing and fantastic. Being a musician of sorts myself, I would love to be able to play multiple instruments with such ease. He's a natural. He eventually formed a band so he could travel. What's awesome is through out the show they will all trade instruments. This is something I did not expect and acted like a five year old that caught santa in the act when it happend! ha I was so stoked! Anyways, it's well worth your time to check them out if you haven't already. I doubt you will regret it and if you do you can yell at me whenver you like! I will of course post some pics and well as links to some music to make your search easier! Have a lovely evening!

The first and third are two of my favorite songs! enjoy!

Mark Chadwick

Mark Chadwick is an artist from the UK. I wanted to post about him, because honestly, I'm not sure whether I like him or not. I do enjoy the paintings, however, it bothers me that he doesn't actually paint them himself. He uses a machine. It's like a higher quality spin art, like the one we had as kids. I appreciate his use of color, but does he really get to call it his art if he doesn't construct the painting himself? He says that he wanted to test the implications of the use of machinery in art, since we are becoming more and more dependent on these items. To me, that's the problem with abstract art. You can make anything or the lack there of and as long as you have an explanation that sounds deep, people will buy it. I mean, I guess that is what art as always been, our personal interpretations of everything in life. Maybe I'm just too closed minded for the abstract. It has just always bothered me. Who am I to judge you may ask? I'm noone, but this is my blog! haha. I can say what I want! While I sit here and say it bothers me, I still do like his paintings as well as many other abstract artists' paintings, I just have a problem with them becoming famous for something any one of my children can do. In fact on that note, instead of letting it bother me, my kids and I are going to make some abstract art to hang in our home! In true fashion of this blog I will let you see some of his art, let me know what you think about it or just abstract art in general!

Mary Ann Lederer

This Cincinnati artist is truly an inspiration to me, and maybe she will be after this to you. She started with a sociology degree in the 60's and was an avid civil rights promoter. When she was thirty five, someone broke into her house and shot her twice in the back, making her a paraplegic. Having to start over in a sense, she decided she was going to pursue something that she loved to do. She began painting, and the rest is history. You can find her paintings here and there around Cincinnati and I hope you seek them out. Paintings are always better in person. Here are a couple for you to see. I hope these inspire and send you on your own quest to make your impression or show your view of the world!

Camping Fun!

Hello! And to the few folks who actually read and follow this, sorry it's been a minute! Had to take a small break from all this fun stuff to do unrelated work! This last weekend we went camping (we as in me and my friend, my oldest her three and their friends! yikes). Yes, we kind of lost our minds! We did, however, have lots of fun! I took my camera in hopes of getting some good nature shots and ended up mostly shooting the kids! I couldn't help myself! I was able to pop out a couple nature ones though! I can't wait to camp again, I forgot how much I love it. I could camp all summer and be the happiest person in the world! Well here are a couple few pics that I loved the most. I hope you enjoy them as well! If you want to see more of these fun photos, hit up the facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/twoturtlesphotography I haven't chosen what to put on my website yet.. Maybe you could help! Give me a shout out as to which are your favorites!

Spring Grove Cemetery

So I had the wonderful privilege to go to Spring Grove Cemetery last week. I was there almost all day, even though it was ridiculously hot and my poor camera had to deal with my sweat! Haha. It was of course a blast, there is so much to see and I didn't even go everywhere I wanted! If you ever have a day with nothing to do, go down there and walk around. The statues and graves are, of course, gorgeous, but it is also and Arboretum and there are so many amazing and majestic trees and flowers to see. I didn't want to leave, at all! Haha hopefully the folks buried there feel that way! These are a couple of my favorites, I hope you enjoy. Also, I tried my hand at some HDR which I will include as well. Let me know what you think!

It was not easy to pick just a few! If you want to see more hit up the facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/twoturtlesphotography I have them all there! Now off to our website to figure out which ones I want to put up there! Lol not going to be easy! Stop by and see which I chose! http://www.twoturtlesphotography.com

Ansel Adams

I feel like this wouldn't be a legit photography website if I didn't do at least one post for the amazing Ansel Adams. He is obviously one of the greatest photographers of our time. His pictures are breathtaking. I can only hope to be half as good as he in my lifetime! He was a revolutionary in the world of photography. If you don't know who he is, you have probably been under a rock during your life, but please, after you are done here look him up, it WILL be worth your time! I got to see an exhibit of his a couple years ago. And seeing them the size he preferred, was overwhelming. I could have stayed there all day. I love you Ansel, thank you for allowing us the pleasure of seeing the world through your eyes! Here's a couple few, not necessarily my favorites, because I could get stuck on here all day! haha Enjoy! Then when you are done here pop over to our website and "LIKE" us! http://www.twoturtlesphotography.com also check out his site! With these two sites together I just saved you from at least an hour or two of boredom! You can thank me later, by hiring me to do your photos! HAHA!

This is the man himself! so awesome!
I actually got to see the one above! It was eerie and peaceful at the same time! The way he manipulated his blacks and whites is just amazing.

This one is actually one of my all time favorites. It's called "Moonrise" I got to see it  in the exhibit I saw and I stared at this for an uncomfortable amount of time! I'm sure there were some folks concerned about my mental well being! Haha but it just got me. :) Have a great evening!
